Leave it to Megan Thee Stallion to create the fashion at the Body Odyssey Awards shows.
The 29-year-old rapper hosted the 2024 VMAs on Wednesday night and changed her outfit several times during the event.
To kick off her appearance on the red carpet, the “Savage” artist appeared in an elaborate, black, strapless dress that was slightly transparent and figure-hugging at the top and had a little more fabric at the bottom.
Nicole + Felicia’s eye-catching design made it look like Megan’s dress was falling down.
Earrings, rings and bracelets by Lorraine Schwartz added extra sparkle.
When Megan took the stage a short time later, she paid a patriotic tribute to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles by starting the official show in a one-shouldered red, white and blue leotard embellished with sequin stars that accentuated her curves.
“Megan,” called out the athlete, who, like the “WAP” rapper, grew up in a suburb of Houston.
However, this appearance only lasted a short time.
Megan quickly changed things up and paid tribute to VMA legend Britney Spears by recreating the costume the pop star wore during her iconic “I’m a Slave 4 U” VMA performance in 2001.
The show’s host opted for a similar green bra and layered micro shorts and even carried a live yellow snake to add to the retro effect, but she was visibly uncomfortable and called someone to help her with the reptile.
Of course, there were quick changes: Megan wore a red corset dress with a skirt reminiscent of a suit jacket, and later appeared in a sheer yellow bikini, which she paired with the skimpy set with boots and thick laces that reached up her legs.
After her “Gladiator”-inspired Pepsi commercial aired, Megan took the stage in a blue and gold Roman-style bra paired with a pleated skirt, gold cape, thigh-high gladiator sandals and armor-inspired accessories.
The look was her second nod to Spears, after the Princess of Pop appeared alongside Beyoncé and Pink in Pepsi’s original Gladiator commercial in the early 2000s.
Megan finished the evening in a completely see-through, sparkly black dress that was somewhat reminiscent of Britney’s catsuit from the “Toxic” music video.
As for her glamour, the successful artist initially rocked a short, sleek bob but ditched the blunt bangs midway through the show. She later sported an afro during her performance and ended the evening with long, soft locks.
A consistent part of Megan’s look was her glamour, which she showcased throughout the show with dramatic lashes and glossy brown lips.
Her signature long nails were also hard to miss, as the light pink manicure contrasted beautifully with her outfit.
While she took home two trophies as a Moon Person, we’d add another one for Best Style.
