Sebastian native Kelsey Laverack auditions for The Voice Again – Sebastian Daily

Kelsey Marie Laverack, a Sebastian native, is expected to appear on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Laverack was born in Sebastian, Florida and spent most of her childhood in Fellsmere, where her grandparents lived. She moved to Vero Beach during her eighth grade year, but always considered Sebastian home, where her father, William (Billy) Laverack, and most of her family lived.

“I started singing at the age of three and performed at my mother’s and Nikki Monahan’s shows. When I was 11 years old, I signed my first record deal in South Florida and became a member of a girl group called the Funn Club. Here I learned how to record in the studio and refined the technical side of my voice. I also learned how to perform and work on stage,” Laverack said Sebastian Daily.

At the age of 20, she auditioned for the first season of “The Voice” as “Kelsey Rey” and received three auditions from Adam Levine, Ceelo Green and Christina Aguilera.

“I ultimately chose Ceelo and started my journey on The Voice. After unfortunately being sent home in the fight round, I returned home, packed all my things and drove across the country to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. Since then, I have worked day after day in the studio with multi-Grammy award-winning artists and producers and am now a songwriter and producer myself,” said Laverack.

In 2016, Laverack experienced the devastating loss of her father, a turning point in her life. They had always dreamed of becoming a star, and while he battled illness, she vowed to never give up on her musical ambitions.

“After his death, I wanted to rebrand myself as an artist and felt there was no better way to honor him than by taking the name of his favorite town, ‘Fellsmere.'” Although I left out one of the “L’s” to make it for To make myself more personal and spelled it “Felsmere”, I know my grandparents, William “Bill” Laverack and Margaret Laverack, and my father would be so proud that I would have adopted the name of a town that meant so much to our family. I will never forget the memories we created in the marsh, airboating and watching the most beautiful sunsets together,” she said.

Driven by her promise to her father, Laverack will audition again for season 26 of The Voice, currently airing.

“Be sure to watch Season 26 of The Voice on NBC to see what happens,” she said.

There is no exact date when Laverack will air on TV, but her appearance will be soon. Laverack is currently 33 years old and lives in Los Angeles, California.
