Sauce Magazine – Rated Test Kitchen’s Juwan Rice appears on “Chopped” on Food Network on August 13

The chef and owner will compete against three other chefs from the USA

Juwan Rice, chef and owner of Rated Test Kitchen and Rated Cafe, will be featured on the Food Network. Chopped on Tuesday, August 13. The episode, in which Rice competes against three other chefs from across the United States, will air at 7 p.m. Central Time.

The Chopped The episode will be Rice’s second appearance on the Food Network. In 2021, he appeared in an episode of Food games for men with moderator Guy Fieri. “One of the casting producers of Food games for men “I shared my information with the producers of Chopped, and that’s kind of how we came to be introduced,” Rice said. He flew to New York City in January to film the episode, in which viewers will see Rice and the other contestants prepare dishes from Chopped’s signature basket of mystery ingredients. When asked by Food Networks, Rice could not reveal any details about what was in the mystery basket or what he cooked for the episode, so you’ll have to watch the episode to find out.

Rice said appearances on shows like Chopped gives chefs like him the opportunity to showcase not only their own talent, but also the talent that comes out of St. Louis. “We don’t have a lot of opportunities in St. Louis to promote our city nationally, so it’s always great when the food networks or cooking networks reach out to me or someone else from our food scene or our culture that’s pretty well known to us to showcase the talent that we have in St. Louis,” Rice said.

He added that he Chopped appearance to challenge preconceptions about what defines St. Louis and Midwestern cuisine. “A lot of people think that St. Louis is only known for butter pie, toasted ravioli and Imo’s pizza, and the Midwest is obviously known for fried food and things like that. So I made sure on the show that it was very clear that we definitely do a lot more than just that. We have some really amazing chefs and curators here in St. Louis.”

Rice, a 2021 sauce The Ones to Watch honoree also announced an upcoming announcement, but did not want to reveal anything further at this time. Stay tuned for sauce for further details as soon as they are available.
