Santa Barbara Humane provided free veterinary care to more than 240 animals at two recent community events, including the recent “Day in the Park” event at Waller Park, a news release said.
At the August 18 event in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara Humane offered pet owners the opportunity to access essential veterinary services such as vaccinations, flea treatments and microchipping at no cost to ensure the area’s pets remain healthy and protected.
The Day in the Park event drew a large turnout of local residents looking for affordable, hassle-free care for their pets. Dr. Katie Marrie, chief veterinarian at Santa Barbara Humane, said the organization is thrilled with the impact the recent events have had in the community.
“By providing these important services, we are helping to ensure more animals in our community receive the care they need,” Marrie said. “This is especially important as we continue to work toward our goal of keeping pets healthy and with the families who love them.”
Santa Barbara Humane hosted a public vaccination and pet awareness event at its Santa Barbara location on August 10 to provide pet owners with access to essential veterinary services, including free DA2PP and FVRCP vaccinations and microchip implantations.
The open house, co-hosted by Senator Monique Limon, also provided community members with information about important services offered by Santa Barbara Humane, including veterinary care, dog training and a pet supply pantry.
Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria campus is located at 1687 West Stowell Rd. For more information about services and upcoming events, visit sbhumane.org.
