Sam Darnold of the Vikings cheers the Packers for three touchdowns in the first half

GREEN BAY – Sam Darnold continued his storybook season Sunday at Lambeau Field, throwing three touchdown passes to give the Minnesota Vikings a 28-7 halftime lead over the Green Bay Packers.

Darnold came into the game with an NFL-high eight scoring passes and began to add to that total.

His first score was a 29-yard connection with receiver Jordan Addison in the first quarter.

His second score came later in the first quarter to tight end Josh Oliver.

Then, in the second half, he hit a spectacular back-shoulder pass to receiver Justin Jefferson for a 14-yard score.

With Addison returning after missing two games with an ankle injury, Darnold had a talented group of receivers to distribute the ball to. He targeted nine different pass catchers and completed a pass to eight of them.

Overall, Darnold completed 11 of 15 passes for 136 yards, while he also once managed nine yards to convert a first down.
