Sabrina Carpenter slams critics of her skimpy tour outfits: “Don’t come to the show”

Sabrina Carpenter responded to criticism over her choice of lingerie outfits that the pop star wears on tour.

Carpenter, 25, has taken the stage over the past two weeks in a handful of bodysuits and lace suits that have left a negative impression on some.

“But there are still the odd mom who has strong opinions about how you should dress,” the “Taste” singer told TIME magazine. “And to that I just say, ‘Don’t come to the show,’ and that’s fine.”

“It’s unfortunate that there was ever any cause for criticism because, honestly, going on stage in front of so many people and acting like it’s nothing is the scariest thing in the world,” she added. “If the only thing that helps you is the way you feel comfortable when you dress, then that’s what you need to do.”

“Femininity is something I have always embraced,” she noted. “And if that means corsets and garter belts and fluffy gowns or whatever the fuck right now, then that’s what that means.”

Carpenter began her first arena tour on September 23 in Columbus, Ohio. The former Disney star is expected to continue the Short n’ Sweet Tour through March 2025, with its final stop in Milan, Italy.

The rising pop star has figured out how to deal with criticism, especially on social media.

“Someone told me this whenever I got upset or felt like I was the only one being criticized for something that other people seemed so freely capable of doing: I’m the one who blames all the negative things about myself “My friends don’t see it,” she told TIME.

“But every now and then there is still a mother who has a strong opinion about how you should dress. And to that I just say, ‘Don’t come to the show, that’s fine.’

Carpenter had great success with her latest album, Short N’ Sweet. The Girl Meets World star’s sixth studio album was released on August 23rd.

The actress and musician became the first artist to have three songs in the top 10 of the Billboard 100 for five consecutive weeks.

“Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste” have been trending since their release.
