Ron DeSantis throws a tantrum on TV after reports he ignored calls from Kamala Harris to talk about hurricane relief

Ron DeSantis attacked Kamala Harris During an interview Monday night, she called them “delusional” as Florida’s governor reportedly refused to answer the vice president’s calls to discuss hurricane relief.

When asked earlier in the day about a report that, as a DeSantis aide described, “Kamala tried to reach out and (the DeSantis team) didn’t respond,” the vice president told reporters: “People need Urgent support.” Playing political games right now and at this moment, in these crisis situations – these are the heights of emergency situations – is completely irresponsible and selfish, and it’s about political games instead of doing the job you took an oath to do vowed to do what means putting people first.”

After Sean Hannity When the governor aired that clip and asked DeSantis for a response, he said he was using “all available resources, including those of the federal government,” to prepare for Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall Wednesday evening. “And that’s why it’s delusional for Kamala Harris to try to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish. She doesn’t play a role in this. In fact, she has been vice president for three and a half years. I have faced a number of storms under this administration. She hasn’t contributed anything to any of these efforts, and so I think it’s selfish for her to try to stumble into it.”

He added: “I’ll say this: I’ve had storms under both President Trump and President Biden and have worked well with both of them.” She’s the first to try to politicize the storm, and she’s only doing it because of her campaign . She’s trying to gain an advantage. She knows she’s feeling bad and that’s why she’s playing these political games.” Earlier in the day, the governor denied reports that he had refused to take Harris’ call, saying, “I didn’t know she had called. I’m not sure who they called. You didn’t call me. You characterized it yourself. It wasn’t something anyone in my office said was political.” (Speaking to NBC News, the DeSantis aide, who said, “Kamala tried to reach out and we didn’t respond,” explained the calls were not accepted because they “seemed political.”)

At an appearance on The view On Tuesday, Harris said it was “a disgrace” that she had not been able to speak to DeSantis and that she would continue to call him when she was president.
