Roberson High School Principal Named Buncombe County Schools Principal of the Year

Principal Nathan Allison of TC Roberson High School was honored at an impromptu ceremony at the school. Allison was surprised to hear the school’s marching band playing outside the main office. When he looked, he found his wife and sons, as well as BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Reed and 2024 BCS Principal of the Year Chip Cody of Erwin High School. Everyone was waiting to announce the good news that he had been named Buncombe County Schools’ 2025 Principal of the Year. “I love my job and am grateful to be able to do it with all of you,” Allison said, gesturing to the teachers and students attending the celebration. “I am so honored to have been selected. Go Rams!”

Allison is a graduate of Owen High School and has worked in Buncombe County Schools for nearly three decades, including 17 years at A.C. Reynolds High School as a math teacher and assistant principal. He then served as principal of Nesbitt Discovery Academy for four years before becoming principal at Roberson in 2018. “When you see Mr. Allison in a classroom or hallway with students, it’s easy to see how much they mean to him and how much he loves TC Roberson High School,” said Dr. Jackson. “We are delighted that his family, students and staff were able to be part of the surprise and witness him receive this honor.”
