Ringo Starr shares his health update with fans as he cancels remaining concert tour dates

Ringo Starr has canceled the remaining shows of his fall tour and shared an unexpected health update with fans just hours before he was scheduled to take the stage in Philadelphia last night, September 24th.

The former Beatle, 84, posted the unfortunate news on Instagram just before fans flocked to the TD Pavilion at The Mann, with the press release-style statement: “Ringo caught a cold and had to consult a doctor.” He was told advised to cancel these two remaining shows and rest.

The Wednesday, September 25 show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall has also been canceled.

The notice added that original ticket holders would be notified via email of an automatic refund. Others should contact their point of sale.

“As always, Ringo and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them again soon,” the post ended.

Most fans were incredibly understanding about the sudden change of plans, with one admitting: “I was really looking forward to the show tonight. 😢,” before adding, “But I hope Ringo recovers quickly!”

“I’m so disappointed but your health comes first,” wrote another. “Will always love you.”

“I’m sad we won’t be able to see him tonight, but first and foremost we just want him to be healthy and happy! Get well soon, Ringo! ☮️❤️,” a third agreed.

However, some thought the timing was “diabolical.”

“I’m going to cry. 4 hours before the show is devilish 😕😕,” one comment read.

“Starr” is the latest in a string of show cancellations, with the most recent largely due to extenuating circumstances rather than the health of the cast.
