Rimersburg woman charged with two counts of shoplifting at Walmart

MONROE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Rimersburg woman is charged with shoplifting in connection with two separate incidents at Walmart in Monroe Township.

According to court documents, Clarion State Police charged the 34-year-old April Renee Fancherof Rimersburg, on August 12 in the office of District Judge Jeffrey Miller.

According to a criminal complaint released on August 21, on July 13 at approximately 3:30 p.m., PSP Clarion received a report of shoplifting at Walmart in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

The police were informed that April Fancher stole eight window curtains valued at $145.84 from Walmart on July 13 at around 11:01 a.m., the complaint states.

Video surveillance footage and screenshots were provided to police, the complaint states.

An employee told police that the person involved in the surveillance April Fancher when she picked up her prescription. After police reviewed Fancher’s photo from her driver’s license, she confirmed that she was in the video, the complaint states.

Police were also notified of another incident involving Fancher that occurred on June 18 at approximately 5:14 p.m. According to the complaint, video surveillance of that incident shows Fancher leaving Walmart with a spoon she did not pay for.

The shovel was valued at $11.48, the complaint states.

On August 2, Fancher was interviewed by police and allegedly admitted to stealing the shovel. According to the complaint, she also reported that she called Walmart and told them she stole it.

Fancher is accused of the following:

  • Shoplifting – Removal of Goods, Misdemeanor 2 (two counts)

The arraignment before Judge Miller is scheduled for September 5 at 9:45 a.m.
