The Dallas Cowboys have a key injury they need to keep an eye on.
As the third quarter of Sunday’s season opener came to a close, tight end Jake Ferguson was being escorted to the locker room. Ferguson landed awkwardly when he was tackled by Browns linebacker Jordan Hicks.
The Cowboys listed Ferguson’s return as questionable due to a knee injury at the time.
Ferguson could be seen clutching his left knee as he limped off the field in Cleveland. He was one of Dak Prescott’s favorite targets last season, catching 71 passes for 761 yards and scoring five touchdowns.
The tight end caught three passes for 15 yards before leaving the field.
Ferguson wasn’t the only notable injury absence in the second half of the game. Brandin Cooks left the field briefly to receive an IV but quickly returned. Eric Kendricks’ return was questionable due to dehydration a few minutes later. The linebacker was also back on the field in the fourth quarter.
This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
