Restaurant in Bellaire attacked by robbers who “knew what they were doing”

HOUSTON — A southwest Houston restaurant owner was stunned and confused after his establishment was hit by robbers. As if that wasn’t shocking enough, details surrounding the break-in led the owner to believe this was not the work of inexperienced crooks.

The break-in occurred at KP’s Kitchen, a shopping center located at 5427 Bissonnet St. in the Bellaire neighborhood.

To avoid being arrested, the thieves took extensive precautions. For example, they turned off the power in the restaurant in advance in order to disable the security cameras in the building.

They first smashed the glass door to get into the building, then looted the cash register and threw wine bottles on the floor.

Here are some pictures from the scene of the robbery:

KP’s Kitchen was not the only restaurant affected.

The owner says another restaurant on the same street, Saltillo Mexican Kitchen, was the victim of a similar robbery.

Gage Goulding from KPRC 2 I will be speaking with the owner of KP’s Kitchen and tonight at 5 and 6 p.m. we will have more details on the robbery.
