TFC’s Derrick Etienne Jr. previously played a key role with the Columbus Crew. Etienne Jr. signed with Columbus on February 4, 2020 and has scored 12 goals and 14 assists in 90 appearances for the Crew over three seasons (2020 – 2022). In 2020, the Haitian winger made 22 appearances and scored one goal in the 2020 MLS Cup, helping Columbus to victory over the Seattle Sounders for the Crew’s second MLS Cup in club history. In 2021, the Richmond, Virginia native set career highs in starts (21), minutes played (1,849) and assists (five) and started as a helper to the Crew’s victory over Cruz Azul to win the 2021 Campeones Cup. In his final season with the Black & Gold, Etienne Jr. was a hit, starting 25 of his 33 games and scoring nine goals and six assists in 2022. Since joining from Atlanta on April 24, 2024, Etienne Jr. has scored five goals and scored three goals in 26 games in all competitions (MLS season, Canadian Championship and Leagues Cup) for the Reds. In the away corner, Columbus Crew’s Jacen Russell-Rowe came through the TFC Academy youth team and made a single appearance for Toronto FC II during the 2019 USL League One season. Since joining the Black & Gold in March 2022, the Toronto, Ontario native has scored 11 goals and recorded six assists in 61 games for the Crew in all competitions.
