Record-breaking dive coaster comes to Six Flags Great America

GURNEE, Ill. (WIFR) – Roller coaster fans, get ready! Six Flags Great America announces plans for the world’s steepest dive coaster.

Wrath of Rakshasa will be 180 feet tall and feature a cliffhanger grip before hurling riders down a 175-foot drop.

The new roller coaster highlights include:

  • Three trains with three rows of seven passengers each
  • A 96-degree fall “beyond the vertical”
  • Five inversions that defy gravity
  • Speeds up to 67 miles per hour

“Six Flags Great America continues to push the boundaries of innovation and thrills by introducing the world’s steepest drop with the most inversions on a dive coaster,” said park president John Krajnak. “Wrath of Rakshasa complements our already impressive lineup of record-breaking coasters and attractions in the park and demonstrates our commitment to providing innovative experiences for our guests.”

Amusement park officials say the attraction will debut in 2025 in the County Fair area of ​​the park across from Demon.
