Usher opens the first Dave’s Spicy Chicken restaurant in the state of Georgia on Friday, August 30 in the city of Conyers, the chain announced on Monday. It is located at 1447 Highway 138.
In 2021, rap star Drake became a major investor, according to the company’s website.
“Dave’s Hot Chicken not only offers a feast for lovers of spicy food and fried chicken, but also for those hungry for incredible entertainment,” said a spokesperson for the restaurant chain.
Usher’s franchise partners are Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali. According to the chain, they are two of Dave’s Hot Chicken’s longest-tenured franchisees.
According to the website, Dave’s Hot Chicken “specializes in huge hot chicken tenders and sliders, as well as homemade kale salad, creamy mac and cheese, and crispy, seasoned French fries.”
Usher will not be at the opening due to his world tour. On Friday he will play the first of three nights in Philadelphia. At the beginning of the month, the music icon has postponed his shows in Atlanta due to an injury. They have been postponed to December.
