The Las Vegas Raiders made it to the win list for the first time this season. However, the Broncos remained the only winless team in the AFC East as the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs each won 2-0.
Chiefs 26, Bengals 25
Patrick Mahomes – 18/25, 151 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs
Isaiah Pacheco – 19 ATTs, 90 yards
Rashee Rice – 5 catches, 75 yards
The Chiefs won a tough game against the Cincinnati Bengals 26-25 on a late field goal by Harrison Butker. Mahomes struggled most of the day, throwing two interceptions, but was saved by a last-minute penalty on the final drive. The Chiefs defense saved the day by returning a fumble for a touchdown. The Chiefs will now face the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday night.
Chargers 26, Panthers 3
Justin Herbert – 14/20, 130 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INTs
JK Dobbins – 17 ATTs, 131 yards, 1 TD
Quinten Johnston – 5 catches, 51 yards, 2 TDs
Denzel Perryman – 5 tackles, 1 sack
The Chargers overcame an inferior team, beating the Carolina Panthers 26-3. Jim Harbaugh turned Justin Herbert into Alex Smith, while Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins combined for 35 carries. Dobbins rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown, and former Raiders Perryman was the best defensive player with five tackles and a sack.
Steelers 13, Broncos 6
Bo Nix – 20/35, 246 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs
Jamal Williams – 11 carries, 17 yards
Josh Reynolds – 4 catches, 93 yards
Zach Allen – 2 tackles, 1 sack
The Broncos continue to struggle on offense as Bo Nix is still struggling with the teething issues of his rookie life. He threw two interceptions with an ugly pass inside the 10 that cost the Broncos points during a good drive. They have trouble running the ball, but the defense surprisingly keeps them in the game. Sean Payton joked about trying to get the Raiders to not select Nix, but Raiders fans are happy with Brock Bowers now.
