PS5 Pro: Where to buy Sony’s more powerful PS5 console

Sony’s powerful PlayStation 5 Pro is now available for pre-order exclusively through PS Direct, the company’s direct-to-consumer web store. The console will cost $699.99 and will ship on November 7. If you prefer to shop at Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, or other established retailers, some product links are already live (so feel free to bookmark them), but you won’t be able to pre-order from those stores for a few weeks starting October 10 at 7 a.m. PST (10 a.m. EST).

For anyone who needs a refresher, the PS5 Pro aims to play PS5 games at faster frame rates and more graphic detail. Additionally, Sony is touting better ray tracing and AI-driven graphics enhancements for games that come with the appropriate patches. Polygon’s Matt Leone recently tried out the powerful console, testing out several of the “PS5 Pro Enhanced” titles that will be supported at launch.

The PS5 Pro isn’t the only new hardware Sony has prepared for the holiday shopping season. The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection (including a PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim Digital Edition, PlayStation Portal, DualSense, and the more expensive DualSense Edge) is also available for pre-order—all in the color scheme of the original PlayStation. Good luck resisting their charms, and I wish you even better luck actually securing one of these devices before they sell out!
