UPDATE 2: Queues for PS5 Pro pre-orders have opened on the PlayStation Direct website. While the consoles officially go on sale at 10am BST, fans can now join the queue to pre-order the PS5 Pro.

When you click on the PlayStation Direct link, you’ll be placed in a queue where you can purchase either a standard PS5 Pro console or items from the Anniversary Collection. The regular PS5 Pro costs £699.99, while the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Bundle costs £959.99.

Sony further explains: “When the countdown reaches zero, you will be assigned a random place in the queue. Don’t worry – your place in the queue is safe. Opening multiple queue tabs or manually refreshing the page will not affect your place. The page will refresh automatically.”

“Have your payment details ready. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro cards and Paypal. You will need a PSN account to purchase directly from PlayStation. Have your login ID ready.”

UPDATE: According to PlayStation UK on X (formerly Twitter), pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will begin as predicted at 10:00am (BST) UK time.

This also applies to pre-orders of the 30th Anniversary Collection, which includes themed PS5 Pro bundles, PlayStation Portals, controllers and more. The Twitter interaction confirming the UK dates can be found further down the page.

Based on other information posted by users in other countries, it looks like the PS5 Pro will go on sale in all regions at 10:00 a.m. local time (that’s 10:00 a.m. ET/7:00 a.m. PT for US customers).

Please note that you will need a PlayStation Network ID to purchase items on the PlayStation Direct website, so sign up now to give yourself the best chance of getting a console.

Using multiple devices will also give you a better chance of securing a console if you are placed in a queue once PS5 Pro pre-orders begin.

ORIGINAL: Despite reservations about the price, there is a lot of excitement about Sony’s brand new and massively improved PS5 Pro console.

If you’re looking to buy the new console at launch, you can pre-order the PS5 Pro exclusively from the PlayStation Direct website starting September 26. The console will be available to pre-order from additional retailers starting October 10, before its full launch on November 7.

Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts to contact Sony, the company has not yet officially announced when exactly pre-orders for the PS5 Pro will be available. This means that the PS5 Pro could go on sale as early as midnight local time.

However, based on previous schedules for the original PS5 (back when there were major PS5 stock issues), customers can expect the PS5 Pro pre-order page to go live around 10:00am (CEST, UK time).

Daily Express will update this article with any latest announcements, in the meantime you can check the PlayStation Direct website for the latest information.

The PS5 Pro will launch at a price of £699, but PlayStation Direct may offer different bundles when pre-orders begin.

The standard PS5 Pro comes with a 2TB SSD, as well as a DualSense controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom built into the system.

The PS5 Pro is a disc-less console, which means you’ll need to buy a disc drive separately, but only if you have a lot of games on disc or use it to watch DVDs/Blu-rays.

On September 26, the new hardware and accessories from Sony’s 30th Anniversary Collection can also be pre-ordered, including a PS5 Pro in the anniversary design.

The limited edition 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro variant includes a themed version of the console itself, complete with 2TB of storage and matching accessories, including a DualSense wireless controller, a DualSense Edge wireless controller, a DualSense charging station, and a console cover for the disc drive add-on (the disc drive is sold separately, however).

It also comes with an anniversary-themed vertical stand, as well as an original PlayStation controller-style cable connector that includes four PlayStation Shapes cable ties. There’s also a PlayStation sticker, a limited edition PlayStation poster, and a PlayStation paperclip… for some reason.

According to Sony, each PS5 Pro Anniversary Edition is individually numbered as a collector’s item. There will only be 12,300 Pro models worldwide.

As for the console itself, the PS5 Pro is designed to improve on the original PS5 in three key ways, particularly with a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling.

The GPU enables up to 45% faster rendering thanks to 67% more processing units and 28% faster memory. This should lead to a better balance between graphics and performance.

Advanced ray tracing is designed to provide “more dynamic reflection and refraction of light,” allowing rays to be emitted at twice and sometimes even three times the speed of the current PS5.

Then there’s AI Driven Upscaling, which supposedly “uses machine learning-based technology to deliver super-sharp image clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail.”

In addition, PS5 Pro Game Boost will give older PS4 and PS5 games a graphics and performance upgrade.

Games getting a boost include Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, and Hogwarts Legacy.
