( MORE: Premier League 2024-25 season predictions: champions, table, top 4, relegation, surprises, sack race )

PST’s very official and serious predictions will be a group effort this year, with Joe Prince-Wright, Nicholas Mendola and Andy Edwards having their say every game week from August to May.

Last week we were 6 of 10 to resultswith three correct result predictions. For the season we are 19 of 30 on Resultswith four correct result predictions. A special greeting to Mr Mendola, who had 3 out of 3 tips and guessed all three points correctlysimply because he could. (Don’t worry, I equalized by making it 0-3.)

Southampton vs Manchester United odds and prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 7:30 a.m. ET
Odds: Southampton (+350) Man United (-140) Draw (+300)
Prediction: A Manchester United performance is not guaranteed, but it doesn’t feel like a game that will set off alarm bells. If the Red Devils were to lose at St Mary’s, panic stations would be opening at Old Trafford. They should have enough to get them through. Southampton 0-2 Manchester United. If Fernandes cannot participate, the score will be 1-0. -NM

Crystal Palace vs Leicester odds and prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET
Odds: Crystal Palace (-160) Leicester (+425) Draw (+310)
Prediction: It looks like a close game, but players like Eze and Mateta are currently in top form and should be too strong for Leicester. Crystal Palace – Leicester 2-1. -JPW

Liverpool vs. Nottingham Forest odds and prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET
Odds: Liverpool (-450) Nottingham Forest (+1100) Draw (+800)
Prediction: This is certainly too much for Forest’s plans to go a long season without defeat. They could pose a threat in front of goal a few times and even break down the Reds’ perfect defence, but an early goal would be crucial for both sides. Slots Liverpool seem to be able to control every game. At Anfield? Then they should be even stronger. Liverpool – Forest 3:1. -NM

Manchester City vs. Brentford Odds & Prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET
Odds: Man City (-500) Brentford (+1150) Draw (+650)
Prediction: The Bees can impress against almost any team and City had a lot of busy players during the international break. But Pep Guardiola has enough reserves. Even with rotation, there is reason to expect a home win. Man City 2-0 Brentford. – NM

Brighton vs. Ipswich odds and prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET
Odds: Brighton (-250) Ipswich (+625) Draw (+400)
Prediction: Ipswich’s urge to hold onto the ball and build from the back will not serve them well against Brighton. It could be a long afternoon for the travelling fans. Brighton – Ipswich 3:1. -AE

Fulham vs. West Ham odds and prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. ET
Odds: Fulham (+140) West Ham (+175) Draw (+250)
Prediction: It looks like it will be a secretly good game as both teams have real quality in attack and it is seen as a game they should win. We hope the Hammers come out on top. Fulham – West Ham 2:3. -JPW

Aston Villa vs. Everton odds & prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 12:30 p.m. ET
Odds: Aston Villa (-210) Everton (+525) Draw (+350)
Prediction: Everton don’t look like a Sean Dyche team at the moment as they are completely disorganised defensively and are conceding an alarming number of goals. Ollie Watkins was wasteful in his chances early on but in this game he will have a handful of chances to choose from and score his first goal (or two) of the season. Aston Villa – Everton 2:0. -AE

Bournemouth vs. Chelsea Odds & Prediction

Kickoff: Saturday, 3:00 p.m. ET
Odds: Bournemouth (+225) Chelsea (+100) Draw (+290)
Prediction: This will probably be a bit of a surprise. Chelsea are still at the beginning of their project and although they have shown some promising approaches, they also look vulnerable when they are put under high pressure, and that is what Bournemouth will do. The Cherries also have the quality on the counterattack to exploit any mistake Chelsea make. Bournemouth – Chelsea 2:1. JPW

Tottenham vs Arsenal Odds & Prediction

Kickoff: Sunday, 9 a.m. ET
Odds: Tottenham (+190) Arsenal (+125) Draw (+260)
Prediction: This is always hard to predict and there have been so many wild, turbulent games over the years. This is an important game for both teams and this encounter so early in the season can really set the tone for the next few months and maybe even beyond. Arsenal’s failures are well documented but they still have a very strong squad and will rightly be the favourites. But it feels like Spurs are on the verge of breaking out offensively as they keep creating so many clear chances that it has to click at some point. It just has to, right? Based on that logic and Spurs’ wild, high back line that should give Arsenal plenty of counter-attacking opportunities, I expect a lot of goals in this game. Let’s assume a draw and Tottenham – Arsenal 2:2 That seems to be a result that this game has produced many times in recent years. And it will happen again. -JPW

Wolves vs Newcastle odds & prediction

Kickoff: Sunday, 11:30 a.m. ET
Odds: Wolves (+220) Newcastle (+110) Draw (+270)
Prediction: Newcastle will look to do exactly the same thing to Wolves as Chelsea did – force them onto the defensive with counterattacks – and with Isak, Barnes and Anthony Gordon all in top form early in the season, they will succeed. Wolves – Newcastle 1:2. -AE
