A heavy police presence was reported Danbury Fair Mall in Connecticut on Sunday evening after unconfirmed reports of a Shoot. Witnesses claimed on social media that gunshots may have been heard in the food court, which allegedly led to a lockdown at the mall. However, these reports remain unconfirmed and authorities have not yet issued an official statement.

“Just left about half an hour ago. Lots of cops, one with an AR-15. They didn’t let anyone into the mall,” one person wrote on Facebook.

Another wrote: “I just walked away because we saw about ten police officers and a police dog and some of the officers had guns so we left. When we left they were just standing around in the food court. They had to be cordoned off right after we left.”

Another witness wrote: “We were there and there was a noticeable police presence with dogs. As I walked out, I asked an officer if the rumor that there was someone there with a gun was true and he had no comment. When we… When we got to our car, they didn’t let anyone into the mall.”

“Hello everyone! My husband and I went shopping for the day today and were only able to go to one store. While he was checking out I went to the family toilet with our daughter to change her and as I have just finished with 2 workers rush in in a slight panic saying everyone needs to evacuate. “It was around 4:55 p.m. and there appeared to be about ten police cars at one of the entrances,” another person reported on Reddit.

Lawmaker Austin Monteiro responded to the shooting reports: “These appear to be reports of possible shots fired moments ago at the Danbury Mall in the food court. No further news yet. I hope everyone is safe. We need law and order now.” CT. I’m tired of this.”
