Phaedra Parks is not the only housewife who competes Dancing with the stars – but she’s ready to be the first to win a mirrorball trophy.
“Housewives in general were not doing so well,” Parks, 50, said exclusively We weekly on Wednesday, September 4, after she was announced as one of the celebrity contestants for the dance competition’s 33rd season. “I want to break the curse because we can definitely win.”
Parks works with professionals Val Chmerkovskiywho has just achieved his 32nd win of the season with his partner Xochitl GomezThis energy is something that the Real Housewives of Atlanta Star wants to capitalize on this for her own role in the reality series.
“I want to show the world that housewives can do more than just talk nonsense,” she teased. “We can actually dance.”
Parks follows in the footsteps of the housewives who came before her DWTSincluding Real Housewives of New Jersey‘S Teresa Giudice And The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Lisa Vanderpump, Lisa Rinna And Erika Jayne.
fellow RHOA Stars Kim Zolciak-Biermann And Kenya Moore have also competed for the coveted trophy. Rinna, 61, lasted the longest of all the housewives, being eliminated in the seventh round of season two. Moore, on the other hand, made it to week six of season 30 in 2021 before being sent home.
Parks said Us on Wednesday that she had not spoken to Moore about her casting DWTS. However, she is looking forward to replacing Moore RHOA for season 16 following Moore’s exit in June. (Moore was accused of distributing revenge porn photos earlier this year involving cast member Brittany Eady. She denied in June that she was involved in any way, but was not called back, RHOA‘s upcoming season.)
Parks has since joined RHOA in 2010 and was fired seven years later after spreading rumors about co-star Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tuckerallegedly to take drugs Porsha WilliamsBurruss and Tucker have repeatedly denied the allegations.
In July, Parks announced that she would return to the Bravo series for season 16. She teased Us that with her comeback she brings “cheekiness into the classroom”.
While RHOA will not return until 2025, fans of Parks can see it on DWTS later this month.

Dancing with the stars Premieres on ABC on Tuesday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes will air live simultaneously on ABC and Disney+ and be available on Hulu the next day.
