Pete Gas reveals he has turned down TNA after being asked to disparage McMahons – PWMania

Pete Gas, a former WWE talent that fans may remember from the Mean Street Posse during the Attitude Era, recently spoke with AdFreeShows.com’s The False Finish podcast. Shane McMahon has been close friends with Gas since childhood.

Pete Gas talked about his friendship with Shane McMahon and growing up with the McMahon family:

“The special thing about the McMahons is that despite all their money, you would never know that they have so much money. They are just down-to-earth, good people. They treat others like human beings.”

About Linda McMahon:

“We were kids in high school and Mrs. McMahon would make us spaghetti. She would just cook us a meal, you know, she was just a mother. She’s down to earth. She’s one of the most loving, caring people in the world. Just an absolute sweetheart and anyone who’s met her can attest to that, and anyone who really knew Shane, and I know people have said that, Shane is just like his mom. There’s no arguing with that, just good people.”

About Stephanie McMahon:

“Stephanie was like a little sister to us. When we were at home and when we were there and stuff, she was always there. She was little Stephanie. She was cool. Everyone treated her with respect. She was like a little sister to me.”

On why he turned down a job with TNA after his WWE career ended:

“Jeff Jarrett started TNA. That was a couple of months later. I was working on Wall Street. We were in talks. It was right before 9/11. He wanted me to work for him. I remember him saying to me, ‘I want to bring you in. You’re going to have to say some things, like put down the McMahons.’ I said, ‘I can’t do that.’ As much as I want to be in this business, how can you ask me to screw over somebody who gave me a chance that I can never repay him for?’ A lot of people would say, ‘Screw it, I’ll do it.’ I couldn’t do that. I mean, call me fucking stupid whatever you want to say, but I’m loyal to people. I mean, I know where my bread was buttered. I’m not going to stab nobody in the back. I’m not going to badmouth nobody. I’m not going to air dirty laundry about anything. That’s how I was raised. So I just told him, ‘I can’t do that,’ and he understood.”
