A Victorian-era train station has been converted into a residential building and partial hotel – and is now officially on the property market.
Lisa and Steve Rawlings bought the former Coalport Station in 2002 to get out of the city and to somewhere that was not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle.
Steve Rawlings told SWNS that at the time, the property had no trains or tracks and was overgrown with weeds and bushes.

“This place was the perfect getaway. The property was enchanting from the start and over time we had a clear idea of what we wanted to do with it,” he said.
Today, the property, which originally dates back to 1863, includes two railway carriages that the couple say function like a hotel in Shropshire, England.

Over the years, the concept has gained traction with tourists, says Steve Rawlings. He says one group of guests even stayed there 15 times.

“We estimate that we have had close to 2,000 bookings over the years,” he said.
He and his wife would sell the property due to her wife’s health problems, he added.
“We are only selling because of Lisa’s health and we need a place where we can put elevators or maybe a bungalow,” he told SWNS, referring to his wife.

Although he finds it difficult to leave this unique place, Rawlings said he and his wife will stay in the area because the town has an “old-fashioned lifestyle – something we value.”
The historic site is close to the Ironbridge Gorge and the Shropshire Hills – both notable tourist attractions in the area.
According to SWNS, the main house includes three bedrooms and three reception rooms, as well as a waiting room that currently serves as an office.
The two Great Western Mark 1 carriages date from the 1960s and are accessible via the original platforms in front of the main building.

One car has three bedrooms with two bathrooms and a living and kitchen area, while the other has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, also with a full kitchen, SWNS reported.
Today, Berriman Eaton’s property is being offered for sale for around $1.1 million.
