Padres’ Jurickson Profar trolls Dodgers fans after stealing a home run in Game 2

Mookie Betts thought it was out as he rounded the bases in a home run trot. The Fox broadcast thought it was out because the scoring error gave the Dodgers a run. Even a few blue-clad Dodgers fans in the left stands thought it was out.

But only one person was sure that it wasn’t actually a home run.

Jurickson Profar jumped up and down and stared into the crowd behind him with a troll job of epic proportions after robbing Betts of a game-winning home run. The ball was in his glove the whole time. It was just the second out in the first inning.

“That was one of my wishes, I want to rob a home run,” Profar told Ken Rosenthal on the Fox broadcast. “And I did it in a playoff game. I had to fight with them to catch the ball. You hit my glove.”

The Padres, who lost Game 1 of the NLDS, took a one-run lead in the first inning of Game 2 on a home run by Fernando Tatis Jr. David Peralta hit a two-run home run in the second inning to make it 3-0. It underscores Los Angeles’ deep concern about its thin starting pitching.

On Saturday night, the Dodgers offense managed to rescue the injured Yoshinobu Yamamoto. On Sunday, Profar’s home run raid made things a little more difficult.
