Oslo Airport expands global trade with new weekly cargo flights to Hong Kong

Oslo Airport is expanding its reach by introducing a new cargo connection. From 4 September, Hong Kong Air Cargo will start a weekly flight service between Hong Kong and Oslo. This new connection represents a significant improvement in trade and transport connections between Norway and Asia.

“We are very pleased to welcome Hong Kong Air Cargo to Oslo Airport,” says Eva Beate Lande, Cargo Director at Avinor. “This route offers Norwegian exporters, especially in the fishing sector, a fast and reliable transport route to Asia, thus increasing our competitiveness on the global market.”

Creating a new connection to one of the world’s largest economic centres will give Norwegian exporters access to new markets. This development will boost trade and strengthen economic relations between Norway and Asia. For the fishing industry in particular, it will mean a faster, more effective route to Asian markets, potentially improving the quality of goods when they arrive.

In addition, the introduction of this new cargo route will expand the range of services offered at Oslo Airport. This expansion will provide greater stability and reduce vulnerability to market fluctuations. With additional transport alternatives, Norwegian companies will be better prepared for global challenges.
