Opening of a new waterfront seafood restaurant in Little River. It has a patio overlooking ICW

A new waterfront seafood restaurant in Little River will open its doors in May.

The opening of Mako’s Bar N Grill coincides with Little River’s annual world-famous Blue Crab Festival, which takes place May 18 and 19, according to general manager John Sessums.

The restaurant will be located at the former Old Key West Crazy Seafood location at 4492 Waterfront Ave. Old Key West closed at that location in May 2023.

The restaurant, owned by Sessum’s father-in-law Steve Martin, will offer seafood and steaks, as well as drinks such as cosmos, bourbon, whiskey and martinis.

Sessums said customers will also be able to sit on the new deck, which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.

In addition to food and drinks, the restaurant will also offer tiki boat rides next summer, Sessums said. Docks are currently being repaired in preparation for the venture.

Cruisin’ Tikis Myrtle Beach currently has two tiki boats in Murrells Inlet and will bring two more to the new restaurant, Sessums said.
