National Coffee Day is Sunday, September 29th and we are so excited about it!

To help coffee lovers celebrate the special day, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and other places known for their coffee offer giveaways, discounts, or deals.

Fall 2024 National Coffee Data Trends (NCDT) analysis found that out-of-home coffee consumption has peaked Highest high since January 2020. However, 81% of today’s coffee drinkers drink coffee at home, while 36% drink coffee away from home. There is overlap for those who drink coffee both indoors and outdoors.

Most Americans (51%) believe coffee is good for their health; The analysis also found that 66% believe coffee improves mental focus, while 46% believe coffee improves physical endurance. Almost half (48%) said they had heard about the health benefits of drinking coffee in the past year.

Given this data, it’s perhaps not surprising that American adults drink over 400 million cups of coffee per dayaccording to the National Coffee Association. The 2024 trend report shows how many Americans drink coffee on average 2.5 cups of coffee per day.

Here are some other key takeaways from the National Coffee Association:

While 61% of Americans prefer traditional coffee, 56% choose specialty coffees such as latte macchiato, espresso and cappuccino.
24% of coffee cups last day were served cold, 60% more than in winter 2023.
It’s no surprise that 84% of Americans drink coffee with breakfast. A whopping 76% say coffee wakes them up and gets them going.

When is National Coffee Day 2024?

The special day is here September 29th every year, and in 2024 it happens to fall on a Sunday. And if you’re not one of those weekend caffeine drinkers, don’t worry – International Coffee Day is Tuesday, October 1st.

Another coffee festival is coming to Texas next year: The 2025 National Coffee Association Convention takes place March 6-8 in Houston.

National Coffee Day 2024 Offers

Starbucks

On Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Starbucks will host a special Twitch livestream DJ set called “At Home with Sofi Tukker” in collaboration with music duo Sofi Tukker to inspire and connect your loved ones over coffee and music. Starbucks is also offering $10 off eligible Starbucks at-home coffee products with any $50 purchase, while supplies last through Sunday.

Dunkin’ Donuts

National chain Dunkin’ is offering its Dunkin’ Rewards members a free hot or iced coffee with every purchase. Limit one per member.

Krispy Kreme donuts

All guests receive a medium hot or iced coffee with every purchase. In addition to free coffee, Krispy Kreme is offering a sweet deal of $2 for a dozen of its original glazed donuts with the purchase of any dozen. Offer available in stores, drive-thru, and for pickup or delivery at krispykreme.com or mobile app with promo codes COFFEE and BOGO2, while supplies last.

Scooter’s coffee

Customers who order in advance or pay with the app on September 29th and 30th will receive a free hot or iced coffee in any size. The first 25 customers at each participating location will also receive a free limited edition mug.

Circle K

From September 26th to October 2nd, a free medium iced or hot coffee can be redeemed via the Circle K app.

Pilot Flying J

On National Coffee Day, free hot, iced or cold brew coffee of any size is available all day. Redeem free coffee via the myRewards Plus app at participating Pilot and Flying J travel centers. Pilot’s new fall coffee flavors include Bourbon Pecan Hot Coffee, Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew and Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino.

Whataburger

On September 29th, all guests will receive a free 16-ounce iced coffee or 12-ounce hot coffee from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No purchase necessary.

La Madeleine

From September 29th to October 1st, customers can receive a free drip coffee with any purchase in store or online.

Shipley Do Nuts

Rewards members who order coffee through the chain’s app on National Coffee Day will receive a free glazed donut.

Kolache factory

Customers can grab a coupon for a free 12-ounce coffee on Kolache Factory’s social media on September 29th. The offer is only available in store.

Parisian baguette

PB Rewards members receive a free medium hot or iced coffee with Lavazza Coffee with purchase Friday through Sunday.

Tim Hortons

Tim’s Reward members receive a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase Friday through Sunday. The offer is valid at participating locations and can be redeemed once.
