NYT Strands today (Game No. 201) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, Game No. 201, are…
- RHYME
- VERSE
- METER
- VERSE
- SYNTAX
- DICTION
- SCANNING
- SPANGRAM: POETRY
- My rating: Moderate
- My result: 2 Notes
I’ve never been a fan of poetry, although I love words and language. When you put it to music, that’s another thing – and I guess the best lyricists are poets too. But when I’m asked to talk about SCANSION and STANZAS, I’m a little stumped. All of which is a way of justifying why I needed two clues to solve what will probably be a pretty simple Strands puzzle for some people.
I figured out the topic early on, and the clue “A skill with words” and the fact that I happened to come across RHYME put me on the right track. But while I discovered a few more, I couldn’t figure out all of them without needing a helping hand with METER and STANZA. After that, I discovered the spangram, and the others were solved essentially by a combination of guesswork and my minimal knowledge.
How did you do today? Send me an email and let me know.
