NYT “Connections” September 10: Answers and clues to game #457

Are you having trouble solving today’s Connections Categories? Newsweek has some helpful hints and tips for game number 457.

Connections is a play on words of The New York Times in 2023 after the great success of Wordleanother of the newspaper’s puns, created by Welsh software developer Josh Wardle.

The answers for Tuesday Connections The game will be revealed at the end of this post, so please scroll carefully if you want to find out for yourself.

How to play connections

Each day, players are given a set of 16 words in a grid format. These words must be divided into four groups of four words each and sorted into categories based on their common themes. For example, in Monday’s puzzle, one of the categories was “blushing in the face” and the words associated with that category were “blush,” “burn,” “flush,” and “glow.”

The categories are color-coded – yellow is considered easy, followed by green, then blue, and finally purple, which is usually the most difficult.

Players begin by selecting words that they think go together based on common themes or characteristics. Once four are selected, the player clicks “Submit.” If the answers are correct, they light up in the difficulty color and are removed. If they are incorrect, they turn gray and remain on the board. They can then “Unselect All” and start again.

There is no time limit on the puzzle, but players have four attempts to solve it correctly, so guess wisely. There is also a “shuffle” button that lets you start over if you get stuck.

If you haven’t solved the puzzle after four attempts, the answers will be displayed.
