The first Sunday of the 2024 NFL season began with a bang in Miami, as the Dolphins and Jaguars played a thrilling game in Miami. Jason Sanders kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired to give Miami a 20-17 victory. Tyreek Hill, who was detained by police before the game, caught an 80-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa as part of a seven-catch, 130-yard performance.

In Chicago, Caleb Williams, selected with the No. 1 overall pick, got a win in his first start, although it was the defense and special teams that did the heavy lifting for the Bears. Williams threw for just 92 yards, but the Bears converted a blocked punt and an interception into touchdowns and beat the Titans 24-17.
