The game
The Kansas City Chiefs begin the defense of their recent NFL title (and what could be an unprecedented three-straight Super Bowl wins) by hosting the Baltimore Ravens in the league’s 2024 season opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. Arrowhead time. The game will be televised nationally on NBC – locally on KSHB/41.
The last time these teams met was in January in the AFC Championship game at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. In that game, Kansas City (a 4-point underdog) pulled out a 17-10 victory that sent the team to Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
This was the fifth game between the Chiefs and Ravens since Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson became their respective starting quarterbacks. In that time, each quarterback has been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player twice — but Kansas City has won all but one of the five meetings. In Week 2021, Baltimore picked up a 36-35 home win — but the last time the Chiefs visited, they scored a 34-20 victory on Monday Night Football in Week 3 of 2020.
