NFL players have to earn their place

Pretty good sign. Four years before the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, where it will make its debut in the Olympic program as an additional sport, flag football is already arousing vocations. But it is not to everyone’s taste. Several NFL players, including Jalen Hurts, the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles, have participated in a promotional clip for the discipline that was broadcast in the United States during the 2024 Games in Paris. Nothing very unexpected so far, the professional league is very active in supporting the development of flag football. But the historic players of the flag already seem to be fearing for their places at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles. Darrell “Housh” Doucette (photo above), the quarterback of the four-time world champion team of the USA, trusted the Guardian : ” I think it’s disrespectful of them to think that just by having their name on it they can automatically make the Olympic team. They have done nothing to develop our sport and bring it to the Olympics. We have to respect the people who have contributed to the growth of this sport and brought it to where it is today. » At least two NFL players – Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams – have already publicly expressed their desire to participate in the flag football tournament at the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.
