New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers breaks his silence about a possible reunion with Davante Adams

After days of speculation that Davante Adams could be traded from the Oakland Raiders, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has broken his silence on a possible reunion.

Adams’ excitement with his current team has been consistent over the past year and has increased over the past week.

Having Gardner Minshew at quarterback and Adams turning 32 at the end of this season seems to motivate him to pursue better opportunities.

One of the most likely destinations is for the Jets to have a second stint with Rodgers as his quarterback after the two played together for eight seasons in Green Bay.

“I don’t know how much I can say about it because of the manipulation, but I still have a close friendship with him,” Rodgers said. “We spent the off-season together. He’s a great guy and a great player. The rest is out of my hands.’

The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys are also possible destinations for Adams.

The Raiders appear willing to deal the frustrated receiver at first prize, with a package that includes a second-round pick as a starting point.

New York is 2-2 this season, but things are looking better with a healthy Rodgers behind center. That would only increase if Adams came along.

The Saints are a legitimate contender to sign Adams as New Orleans starts Derek Carr at quarterback, who also previously played with Adams in Las Vegas.

However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter listed the Kansas City Chiefs as a team the Raiders would not trade Adams to.

The Chiefs could be looking to bolster their wide receiver core following an injury on Sunday to Rashee Rice, who was placed on injured reserve on Thursday.

Other teams that have been mentioned as possible candidates for Adams because they have exceeded expectations this season include the Steelers and Commanders.

Both Washington and Pittsburgh have young, mobile quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels and Justin Fields.

Adams, who has three years left on his contract and is scheduled to make $35.6 million in 2025 and 2026, would likely be the No. 1 receiver on his first day with the Steelers or Commanders.
