HOLLAND – When it was announced that Glik’s Men’s would be moving to the same street to fill the old Glad Rags space in downtown Holland, everyone was wondering what would fill the space at 8 W. Eighth St.
Three weeks later, the Dutch have their answer – a brand new women’s fashion store called Clovier.
The store is a new concept from Glik’s and is intended to be a “unique boutique” offering fashion brands such as Vero Moda, Thread & Supply, Elan and others. It will also feature Town Pride, custom Holland sweaters made and designed in the USA.
The store’s name is derived from “Lucky Clover” and the Dutch word for “four.” It is a play on Glik’s history and is based on the company’s first store, which opened in 1897.
The store was called The Good Luck Store and Elsie Glik handed out pressed four-leaf clovers to customers to bring them luck. “Vier” is the Dutch word for “four,” which the company says is a tribute to the city of Holland.
The merger will create a new brand that the company believes will celebrate the women in its customers’ lives. Glik officials are planning an official launch ceremony for October 25.

Glik’s Men’s store, currently located at 8 W. Eighth St., is moving into the former Glad Rags space at 28 E. Eighth St., where construction is currently taking place. The retail store has served the local community for over 10 years and is operated by fourth and fifth generation family members.
By moving the store to the new location, the men’s clothing store will be able to offer a wider selection of brands and styles. The new space provides an additional 1,700 square feet. Glik’s Men’s is expected to move into the Glad Rags store on October 2nd.
