JOLIET — This is the first full week of business in Joliet for the new Carnitas Aguascalientes #2. The Chicago Ridge-based Mexican restaurant has expanded to Joliet and now has two locations. Although the new Joliet restaurant has only a small seating area, the majority of sales are expected to come from takeout orders.

Representatives for Carnitas told Joliet Patch that they plan to keep their new restaurant open seven days a week. Daily hours are still being determined and have not been posted at the store. Carnitas is located at 410 South Chicago Street, directly across from Milano’s Bakery along busy Route 53.
Carnitas is located in the same commercial center as Tony’s Auto Repair. The phone number for takeout orders is 815-582-4906.
The menu features a variety of torta flavors, including sausage, barbacoa, and torta tongue-lengua. Quesadillas include steak asada, chicken pollo, pork pastor, and sausage chorizo.
The burritos, called burros, are available in the varieties chicken pollo, pork pastor, steak asada, barbacoa and tongue lengua.
There are more than 10 different tacos, and Carnitas has about 15 different platillos, or dishes, on its menu, ranging in price from $9.99 to $18.99 for the shrimp fajitas or the carne asada.
