CHESTERTON – The Chesterton Police Department announced it began operations Thursday morning at its new station at 791 Broadway, directly across the street from its previous location.

“We are pleased to serve you from our new, state-of-the-art facility,” the department said.

“Using their training and faith, they performed life-saving measures and, with God’s grace, brought this precious child back to life,” the fire department said.

According to police, the entrance hall of the new station is open to the public Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Outside of these hours, visitors can enter the foyer and call the operations center for help using the telephone on the right-hand side, police said. There is also a mailbox available for disposing of unwanted prescription medication.
