“BOSTON — The Healey-Driscoll Administration and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Aviation Division today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is providing more than $2.3 million in federal funding for municipal airports in the fourth round of funding through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP).
Fitchburg Municipal Airport will receive $1,139,395 for lighting and other infrastructure projects and New Bedford Regional Airport will receive $1,211,490 for airport access road improvements.
“This federal funding will advance projects that are essential to the operational efficiency and safety of our Fitchburg and New Bedford airports,” said Governor Maura Healey“We are grateful to the Biden-Harris administration for creating transportation funding opportunities that will help us improve and modernize Massachusetts infrastructure and spur economic growth in our communities.”
