Passengers travelling on Namo Bharat trains can now rent a power bank. Rental rates start at Rs 50, the NCRTC said in a statement. The first such service is now available at the Sahibabad RRTS station, it said.
In addition, there are plans to introduce charging facilities for electric vehicles at several stations; preparations for this are underway, the statement said.

The power bank on rent comes with three types of charging pins to serve different devices including iPhones, Micro USB and C-port connectors. The rental rates start at just Rs 50, and an annual plan is available for Rs 1,199, it said.

The commuters can rent a power bank and carry it along during their journey. To facilitate this service, special machines will be installed at RRTS stations, the statement said. Passengers can rent a power bank from these machines and return it at any similar machine across the NCR. This facility caters to the growing need for mobile phone charging facilities and provides a convenient solution for today’s commuters, it said.

The service will soon be extended to other RRTS stations, the statement said. The operation and management of the Namo Bharat train will be handled by DB-RRTS Operations India. Special attention will be paid to the comfort and amenities of passengers on the Namo Bharat train and at the RRTS stations, it said.

As part of these initiatives, a power bank rental facility has now been introduced at RRTS stations, it said. “People can charge their mobile phones by renting a power bank from designated machines. Various rental plans are available so that you can choose the one that best suits your needs. Power bank machines have already been installed at many locations and they will soon be fully operational at the designated locations,” the statement said.

The facility to rent power banks is currently available in the toll-free area of Sahibabad railway station, making it accessible to everyone without the need to buy a train ticket. Anyone can visit the station and avail this service. To avail the facility, people need to install the ‘A3 Charge’ mobile app on their phone. Registration is done through a phone number. After registration, the app will guide users to the nearest power bank machine where they can scan a QR code to access a power bank, it said.

Various rental plans are available so that users can choose a plan that best suits their needs. Depending on the plan chosen, the power bank can be swapped for a fully charged one on a daily basis. The app also provides real-time information on the availability of power banks and slots at each machine, ensuring a seamless experience for users, it says.

Passengers also have access to charging facilities for mobile phones. Charging stations are installed at every seat in every bus. The premium bus also offers charging stations for laptops, it was said.
