Moment in which a liquor dealer besieged by a huge mob defends himself

A dramatic video captured the moment a California liquor store clerk pointed a gun at a rampaging mob after they surrounded him.

The incident occurred shortly after 4:15 p.m. Saturday outside Golden Hours Liquor in the 3200 block of International Boulevard, Oakland police told DailyMail.com.

The unidentified worker did not appear to have fired the gun, but police said they went to the scene to investigate a “ShotSpotter activation” – a security technology that detects gunfire.

Officers “found evidence of a shooting,” but no one suffered gunshot wounds, police said. No one was arrested.

The violent moment began when the worker – who was wearing a black T-shirt, had long dark hair and tattoos on his arm – was talking to a young man in a red hoodie who later punched him in the face.

The employee’s hat flew off his head when another young man slapped him several times.

The employee quickly shuffled into the store, followed by a large crowd of bikers.

He grabbed a gun as the mob ran screaming out of the store.

The store clerk led the crowd outside before turning around and pointing the gun at the gathering.

He then waved the gun around as the crowd quickly grabbed their bikes and fled the scene in panic.

While some people escaped, others remained near the store while the employee ran around with the gun in his hand and yelled at them.

At one point, he approached a man in a gray hoodie and pushed him onto the sidewalk.

The worker continued to scream and apparently put the gun away as more people left the area.

He then walked to the front entrance of the liquor store, took off his hat and yelled at a man wearing jeans, a face mask and a black hoodie.

Another man, wearing a white T-shirt and black pants, stepped between the two and apparently tried to end the heated argument.

A separate video posted on X showed the heated exchange from a different perspective, just moments before the employee reached for the gun.

A man in a red cap said to the employee, “I’m not stealing, this is a child’s shoplifting and you took care of it.”

“But you’re threatening three fucking bastards,” he added.

“I’m not threatening anyone, I just said fuck off,” the employee replied.

The young man in the red sweatshirt then asked him: “Why are you attacking children with guns, brother?”

“Did you see me pull out the gun?” the employee asked as he approached the young man.

It is unclear what exactly triggered the heated argument.
