Minot North Sentinels lose at home to Bismarck Legacy Sabers | News, Sports, Jobs

The Bismarck Legacy Sabers (2-1-1) traveled to Minot to face the Sentinels on the home turf of Minot North (0-3, 0-5). The Sabers scored in the first minute of play and won 10-0 in Minot.

Legacy scored six goals in the first half. Kamden Kooiman scored the first goal and added two more, making three of the six. Kellen Okerson, Riley Ketterling and Ryker Zietz were the other three to score.

In the second half, Eduard Abramciuc scored three of the four goals. Carson Riehl added the fourth goal.

Sentinels sophomore Griffin Wald made eight saves in goal during the game. Seventh-grader Brantley Robinson made four saves as a substitute. The Legacy goalies finished the game without allowing a single shot on goal.

In the Western Dakota Conference (WDA), Logan Ovitt had two points and two goals for the Sentinels. The opponents scored 11 goals in the first half and 10 in the second, resulting in a goal difference of 21:2. Wald faced 46 shots on goal and stopped 29 of them. Robinson faced eight shots and stopped four of them.

In the two non-league games, Minot North was beaten 22-3, with Ovitt scoring two of the three goals and eighth-grader Gavin Wald scoring the third.

Minot North hosts Bismarck High on Tuesday, August 27, while Legacy will be at Minot High the same day.
