Mark Andrews is confident: “My time will come”

Mark Andrews knows we live in a fantasy football world and those who picked him aren’t too happy right now. But here’s the thing: he doesn’t care.

The Ravens’ win at Dallas last Sunday marked the first time in 76 games that Andrews didn’t make a catch. He only saw one target and played just 33% of the offensive snaps.

While fantasy owners are panicking, Andrews isn’t worried.

“My time will come,” he said Thursday.

“I mean, all that (fantasy talk) is good and all, but they don’t know what goes on in this building and how we work and what I do. They don’t watch me every game. You I don’t see the type of work I do. And so all good things come with time.”

The Ravens added another key weapon this offseason in Derrick Henry and Baltimore deployed a ferocious rushing attack in Dallas that meant more personnel. The emergence of fellow tight end Isaiah Likely and others has also meant the Ravens and Lamar Jackson aren’t as reliant on pumping the ball to Andrews.

It’s a pick-your-gift offense and Andrews hasn’t been selected yet. But he assured reporters he was healthy and ready.

“I feel great. I think you saw how I move in the film. I think I’m doing a lot of things better than I’ve ever done before,” Andrews said. “And yeah, you know, it’s different. We have a different team, but I still feel incredibly good and fast and strong. And I’m the same player I always was. It’s just that the balls didn’t come my way.”

Andrews has caught six passes for 65 yards in three games and has yet to reach the end zone. According to Pro Football Focus, Andrews leads all tight ends with a separation rate of 73.68% this season. He ranks seventh among all NFL pass catchers.

In Dallas, he showed with his blocking that he is still a player who can impact the game without getting the ball. He helped pave the way for Jackson’s touchdown run, and head coach John Harbaugh said he delivered three or four pancakes over the course of the game.
