A man was seriously injured after falling from a height at a busy London train station.
The incident occurred today (6 August) at around 12.50pm at Canary Wharf tube station.
An ambulance crew, a paramedic in a patrol car, a crisis management officer and members of the London Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team were called to the scene.
The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The British Transport Police temporarily closed the station and TfL confirmed that the Jubilee Line was also closed due to a “customer incident”.
The station was later reopened.
According to a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), dozens of people inside the station were seen running toward the exit after an officer shouted at them to “get out as quickly as possible.”
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 12.50pm today (6 August) to reports of a person falling from a height at Canary Wharf tube station, Bank Street, E14.
“We dispatched resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a patrol vehicle, a crisis response officer and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
“We treated one man on site and transported him to a major trauma center.”
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “At 1.07pm, officers were called to Canary Wharf tube station following a report of a medical incident.”
“Paramedics were also on site and a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
