Maine’s own wife Rachel hits back at the haters in the best way

Since having Gwen, who is 9 months old at the time of this article, I have a new appreciation for Ms. Rachel. My friend has a magical touch when it comes to speaking directly to our little ones and capturing their attention.

My sweet little angel is screaming her heart out and then I turn on “Hop Little Bunny” by Ms. Rachel, our Lord and Savior, and her face immediately lights up. Whatever was bothering her becomes a distant memory.

I recently learned that Ms. Rachel is from New England, which only increased my affection for her. I knew we had a connection!

She was born in Biddeford, Maine and raised in Sanford. According to Wikipedia, she attended Sanford High School, where she did a lot of theater (cheers to my theater colleagues), and she also attended the University of Southern Maine.

It was her own son’s diagnosis of a speech delay that inspired her to start her YouTube channel, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Mrs. Rachel sometimes feels like the third parent in our household and I know many other parents feel the same way.

I am thrilled with how successful our girl is. She really deserves it. She has a special way of making children feel seen, heard and special.

This week, she experienced what she called a “full circle” experience. Apparently, she used to be teased by some of her classmates in Maine for wearing Walmart sneakers to gym class. Well, Ms. Rachel now has her very own merchandise available at Walmart:

There was nothing petty about her tone, and I love her for that. She simply recognized the moment and what it meant to her. She is in a class of her own! Her tormentors from back then must feel pretty silly now.
