LAKE CHARLES, LOUISIANA: Many Walmart customers are voicing their displeasure over recent changes to the retailer’s checkout policies. We have all the details.
Walmart customers in Louisiana have to ask themselves every time they enter the store, “I wonder what I’m getting myself into today.”
Walmart recently changed its checkout policies and limited the number of self-checkout transactions to 15 items or less.
A customer recently posted on X that he was kicked out of the self-checkout area with 23 items and had to stand in a line with eight customers with full strollers ahead of him.
However, in some select Walmart stores, things are even worse. There, only customers who have subscribed to Walmart+ can use the self-checkout lanes.
Another checkout policy change that is causing discontent among Walmart customers is that stores can now close self-checkout lanes during the busiest times of the day.
Another customer recently posted on X that he normally spends $500 a month at Walmart, but had such a bad experience with his last purchase that he left his stroller at the store and will now spend his money at Food Lion.
Walmart has responded to customer complaints on social media and seems to want to hear their feedback. Hopefully, some good will come out of reaching out to customers and making their payment policies more customer-friendly.
