Texas Longhorns legend Colt McCoy took the time to meet the program’s backup quarterback, Arch Manning, and it’s safe to say McCoy was impressed.
At least according to his recent comments to Manning on On3.
“I think Arch Manning is the one,” Colt McCoy said in an interview this week. “I’ve spent some time with him. Obviously he has the last name, the pedigree, all those things. But the kid works really, really hard. He’s really smart, and I think it’s to his credit that he stuck it out, redshirted, and really bided his time to be a starter at Texas.”
McCoy later added: “I look at some of those games from last weekend,” McCoy said. “Miller Moss (at USC), the Nussmeier kid (at LSU). If you’re a quarterback in college, I would say stay where you are. Take your time. Learn and grow.”
