play

The Dallas Cowboys (2-2) came to East Rutherford, New Jersey, desperate for offensive rhythm and a desire to significantly improve their defense. Although it wasn’t perfect and all three units struggled at times, they found a way to get their second win of the year, 20-15.

It was a hard-fought game in which the Giants (1-3) continued to build on Dallas’ lead despite not scoring a touchdown on the night. Thanks to a rare missed field goal from Brandon Aubrey, the Giants were given one last chance to complete the comeback.

However, with no timeouts and half the field having to be covered, Daniel Jones had to push and try to make something happen. That desperation allowed Amani Oruwariye to seal Dallas’ victory with an interception.

However, Amani Oruwariye sealed Dallas’ victory with an interception. Dallas is hanging on at 20:15 and gets its second win of the season.

A touchdown drive might have put this game away. However, Dallas’ offensive possession stalled. Aubrey hits another ball through the uprights, this time from 40 yards out, extending Dallas’ lead back to five, 20-15.

Despite having plenty of chances to score six tonight, New York was unable to score a touchdown in more than three quarters. They were still within striking distance deep into the fourth quarter, and their most recent field goal attempt from 42 yards cut the Cowboys’ lead to just two, 17-15.

Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is as automatic as it gets in the NFL, and after an offensive performance that faltered in the middle of the field, he got another chance to show why. Dallas failed a third down pass to Brandin Cooks, which gave Aubrey the lead with a 60-yard field goal attempt. The Pro Bowl kicker prevailed by far and extended Dallas’ lead back to five, 17-12.

New York came out of halftime with a methodical drive that went all the way to the Dallas 3-yard line. This time Joseph is good from 22 yards and reduces the lead to 14-12.

It was a chaotic half for both teams as eleven penalties were accepted in the first two quarters. Despite the sloppiness, the Cowboys found an offensive rhythm and scored two touchdowns. The Giants found a groove of their own and controlled much of the time of possession, but were only able to convert field goals from their chances. The Giants will get the ball and start the second half trailing 14-9.

New York dominated time of possession for much of the first half, controlling the ball for over 18 minutes. The Giants’ third field goal from 38 yards cut the Cowboys’ lead to five, 14-9.

The Giants haven’t managed to reach the end zone yet tonight, but they have made field goals on two of their first three possessions. The second shot came from 41 yards away and cut the deficit to one.

Dallas’ offense struggled to get going earlier this season, but on their second possession of the night, they responded with a touchdown drive to take their first lead of the night. A 12-play, 75-yard possession was capped off by a 15-yard screen pass from Dak Prescott to running back Rico Dowdle. Dallas takes an early 7-3 lead.

After a stagnant opening possession for the Cowboys’ offense, Daniel Jones and the Giants were able to sustain a drive capped by a 52-yard field goal by Greg Joseph. The drive was aided by a 39-yard reception from wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Tony Catalina, Austin American-Statesman: The Cowboys have endured a difficult two-week stretch and with kickoff on Thursday night, they don’t have much time to think about it. However, a quick turnaround against a familiar opponent could be what they need.
