Lindsay Arnold gave fans a look behind the scenes of Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik‘s first Dancing with the stars Perfomance.
Lindsay, 30, is not participating in the 33rd season, which premieres Tuesday, September 17, but she traveled to Los Angeles to support her sister Rylee Arnold ahead of the first episode. “Get ready to vote for our team tomorrow 😍🙌🏼,” Lindsay captioned a TikTok video uploaded on Monday, Sept. 16, as she documented a “camera lock day” with Rylee, 19, and the other contestants.
Lindsay filmed her trip to the studio and showed the cast trailers before heading to the DWTS Ballroom. “This is Stephen’s first time seeing the stage, it was really cool to witness this moment,” Lindsay enthused.
Rylee and the 25-year-old Olympic gymnast warmed up backstage before their turn to rehearse. While Lindsay’s clip didn’t show much of the duo’s choreography, fans did get a glimpse of one key detail – a giant Rubik’s Cube hanging from the ceiling. Colorful squares of light on the floor and in the background also made the stage look like a 3D puzzle.
Nedoroscik captured the hearts of Americans at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, helping the U.S. men’s gymnastics team win its first medal since 2008. After Nedoroscik’s impressive performance on the pommel horse, the U.S. team took bronze, and he won an individual bronze medal in the apparatus finals.
During his Olympic journey, Nedoroscik became known for his Rubik’s Cube skills. When he performed The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon In August, Nedoroscik solved the puzzle in 15.42 seconds.
While watching Rylee and Nedoroscik rehearse, Lindsay joked that she was in “full dance mom vibes,” adding in her TikTok, “I’m just so excited to be here and to be such a proud big sister. … They just have the best energy ever.”
The cast for season 33 was officially announced earlier this month and Rylee couldn’t be happier with her partner.
“He is just so nice, has such a good soul and came right in,” she told exclusively We weekly on September 4. “He was ambitious, he wanted to work hard, he wanted to dance and be good at what we did. I’m so grateful that he’s my partner.”
Nedoroscik is equally enthusiastic about Rylee, who DWTS debut as a professional last year. “She is an amazing dancer,” he said Us“I didn’t know who I was going to get and I looked at all the pros and I was like, ‘I really hope I get Rylee.’ So I was so excited that I got Rylee.”
Lindsay first appeared as a professional dancer in 2013 and took part in 10 seasons. In season 15 she won the mirror ball with Jordan FisherLindsay confirmed in August that she would not return to the ballroom this season, but Rylee hopes she can compete against her sister one day.
“I think there is probably a future with Dancing with the stars and Lindsay,” she said Us this month, noting that she tried “so hard” to convince Lindsay to return. “It’s sad, but I think at some point it should happen.”
Dancing with the stars Season 33 premieres on Tuesday, September 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
