Leon Bridges announces release date of “Peaceful Place” and “Leon”

Leon Bridges has been very busy in recent years. He has released his latest album, Gold digger soundin 2021, sandwiched between two joint EPs with Khruangbin: Texas Sun in 2020 and Texas Moon in 2022. Now he is doing his own thing again: Today (August 8) Bridges announced a new album, Leon.

He also released a cool new song called “Peaceful Place.” The video for the song offers a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of the album near Mexico City.

In a statement, Bridges says about the album:

Leon has been a long time coming. I started writing parts of it a long time ago Gold digger sound. They didn’t fit with what I wanted to achieve with this album and I tried to move on. But I couldn’t get rid of them because they are a part of me. And, if I’m honest, also because I think this is my best work to date.

In many ways, I’ve been working on Leon since I was a kid. This record is about simpler days. It’s about the time I spent in my beloved Fort Worth and the experiences that made me the man I am today. It’s soulful music in the truest sense of the word – it’s steeped in my soul.

I look forward to sharing these stories about home, about nostalgia, about my upbringing, about my heritage with all of you. I hope this music brings you back to your roots and your journey.”
