Lady Gaga reveals the ‘unorthodox’ way her fiancé Michael Polansky proposed

It couldn’t be further from a bad romance.

Lady Gaga has detailed how her fiancé Michael Polansky asked for her hand in marriage in an unconventional way.

Appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” On Tuesday night, the 13-time Grammy winner revealed that Minnesota-born Polansky asked her if he could propose to her before asking her the all-important question during a hike in April presented.

“We went on a trip together and went climbing. “We’ve been rock climbing before, which was a lot of fun,” the “Joker: Folie à Deux” star explained, adding that the trip took place shortly after her 38th birthday.

“He didn’t propose to me at the top. We climbed to the top, looked around and took a few photos.”

“We went back downstairs and just went back to the room. It was very Michael to ask me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was okay to propose before he proposed. I said, ‘Yes! It’s so okay!’”

Kimmel then asked if Polansky got down on one knee during the proposal, to which the “Shallow” hitmaker replied, “He didn’t. I’m a modern lady, I like what he did.”

“He had the ring in his backpack, so it was super cute,” she said. “He got into his backpack and pulled it out.”

The “Die With a Smile” singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was then asked about her wedding plans and whether she was planning a big Italian wedding celebration.

“I don’t know what we’re going to do. “We’re not quite sure yet,” she explained. “We actually talk a lot about just going to a courthouse as a couple and (then) ordering Chinese food. But knowing me, it could also be like a circus with unicorns.”

Gaga previously spoke about her relationship with Polansky in a feature for Vogue. The singer and actress said the duo were “suitable for each other” despite their differences.

“I had never met anyone like Michael,” the October cover star said. “He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and my life are very different.”

“He’s a very private guy and is with me for no other reason than because we’re compatible,” Gaga added.

The “Poker Face” singer also told the outlet that she met the businessman through her mother in 2019 after meeting him at Napster founder and early Facebook investor Sean Parker’s birthday party.

Polansky is the CEO of Parker Group, which oversees Parker’s business and charitable interests.

The couple fell in love shortly after meeting and spent quarantine together during the coronavirus pandemic.
