Our greatest Italian-American is in love! Fresh from performing at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics and in the midst of releasing her seventh studio album, Lady Gaga looks overjoyed with her fiancé, entrepreneur Michael Polansky, as she makes her red carpet debut at the Venice International Film Festival. After months of speculation, the couple have finally confirmed they are engaged, and Gaga’s smile is almost as bright as her huge diamond ring.
In a dramatic look that reminded us of a couture Maleficent, Gaga walked the red carpet in a black, voluminous Christian Dior haute couture gown with a plunging neckline. She accessorized with fabulous Tiffany diamonds and a dramatic Philip Treacy headpiece. Polansky wore a tuxedo.
Excuse my all caps… FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL LOOK AT YOU THE WAY LADY GAGA AND HER BUSINESSMAN LOOK AT EACH OTHER, OMG.
The singer and actor was in town for the premiere Joker: Foil a Deux, the movie musical in which she stars as Harley Quinn alongside Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck. After meeting in a mental hospital, the two descend into madness as they fall in love, and basically all you not wants in a relationship.
In fact, Gaga apparently only confirmed her engagement because she was caught calling Polansky her fiancé in a video taken at the Olympics, but we’re kind of glad she was forced to confess, because if that’s her red carpet vibe… bring on more. (She also clarified that she’s pregnant: She’s not.)
“They are great together,” a source revealed when they announced their engagement. “He is thrilled and supports her career. He can’t stand being in the spotlight, but he lets her shine. He has his own business priorities that she supports. They would both love to have a family,” the source said. OK, sweet!
